The Alte Hafenamt (old harbour master’s office) was designed by city construction inspector and architect Friedrich Kullrich, and built in 1889. Just as it did in the past, it continues to serve as a landmark for skippers arriving in the port of Dortmund. The listed building is now home to the new “Shipping and Ports” permanent exhibition by Dortmunder Hafen AG, which provides information on shipping and modern port management.
