Stiftung Skulpturenpark Köln
Juni 2024 – 2026

With KölnSkulptur #11, the Skulpturenpark Köln is showing numerous outdoor sculptures by international artists. In the works of eight contemporary artists, we encounter globally relevant topics such as technological developments in the field of artificial intelligence, the effects of climate change, the current challenges for democratic institutions and the emergence of new economies.

235 Media provided technical conceptual support and advice to the artist Frances Scholz for her installation Earth Wall. We realized a 4.5 meter wide and 2.5 meter high LED wall in the outdoor area on which the video work is spectacularly presented in the beautiful park. The artwork shows uprooted trees from a former quarry area, which are artificially supplemented and imagined by NeutralRadiance Fields.

Helmut Schmidt, the fifth Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, not only shaped his hometown of Hamburg as a politician, publicist, and thought leader, but also had a significant impact on Germany as a whole and on international politics. The Federal Chancellor Helmut Schmidt Foundation addresses the central question: “Who was Helmut Schmidt?” and has been offering insights into Schmidt’s life and work through various exhibitions since 2017.

For several months, the new traveling exhibition “Challenging Democracy” will explore the multifaceted life and work of Schmidt. It will particularly focus on topics such as internal and external security, energy and the environment, as well as economic and social issues. At several interactive stations, visitors will have the opportunity to engage directly and contribute to a democratic understanding of politics.

235 Media was tasked with creating the media productions, programming, and screen design. This also included developing and implementing a four-minute animated film and producing several interview films with the exhibition organizers. Additionally, 235 Media was responsible for producing the entire exhibition, which included a total of nine modules equipped with various graphic elements and other components. Our responsibilities encompassed work planning, graphics production, and exhibit construction.

14 August 2022 – 11 December 2022

In the presence of the Federal Minister of Education and Research Bettina Stark-Watzinger, the POWER2CHANGE – MISSION ENERGIEWENDE exhibition was opened at Henrichshütte Hattingen on Aug. 13, 2022. Four complex thematic islands explore the question of how new technologies can help to master the energy transition in order to stop climate change. The production of green electricity and alternative fuels, the use of CO₂ as a raw material for the chemical industry and many other topics are presented in a compact and comprehensible way with carefully curated exhibits.

235 Media designed and implemented four large interactive tangible tables, four analog hands-on exhibits, four digital solution games, two augmented reality stations and many other media stations using a wide variety of technologies for the traveling exhibition.

The exhibition will go to the Klimahaus Bremerhaven in December and will then be shown at five other locations in Germany.

13 November 2021 – 9 August 2022

The DASA Working World Exhibition in Dortmund is the permanent educational active facility of the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health. The new temporary/travelling exhibition “Artificial Intelligence. An exhibition about people, data and control” is dedicated to the ambivalence of new developments in the field of artificial intelligence, which is gradually permeating the home, the working world and public space. Among other things, the exhibition uses various media stations to educate visitors about the opportunities and dangers of the new technology.

235 Media conceived the media technology, developed the screen design of the media stations, wrote software, built sensors, produced short films, realised the hardware and set it up in the exhibition.

Further stations of the exhibition are the Technical Museum Vienna, the Tekniska museet Stockholm, and the Parque de las Ciencias in Granada.
